Love Honor Cherish was formed in May 2008 and is dedicated solely to the repeal of Prop 8 at the next general election in November 2010. We raised $500,000 for the No on 8 campaign and also mounted our own outreach and media efforts, with a strong focus on speaking the truth about marriage and dveloping a new generation of leadership on this issue. Love Honor Cherish is presently gathering signatures for a new ballot initiative that will allow same-sex couples to regain the right to marry in the state of California. We must gather 1,000,000 signatures by April 2010 in order to qualify the initiative for the ballot. To learn more about gathering signatures, go to www.SignForEquality.com.
In addition to gathering signatures, our members are working to educate the public and help others to educate the public on gay civil rights and the importance of marriage equality for same-sex couples. We will provide information and tools from Love Honor Cherish and other organizations to help with this effort.
We have built numerous alliances with other organizations and will continue to reach out to other organizations who are fighting for marriage equality for gay and lesbian couples.

Love Honor Cherish organizes its projects under four committees: Outreach, Fundraising, Ballot Initiative and Media. Each of these has a chairperson. To get involved in a specific committee, come to our weekly meeting.
Outreach
- Train and book speakers
- Liaison with other groups and communities
- Write letters to the editor
- Write press releases and develop media contacts
- Organize political actions
Fundraising
- Organize fundraising events
- Create mechanisms for donations online and off
- Set up house parties to educate and raise money
Ballot Initiative
- Gather signatures for ballot initiative
- Organize and train signature gatherers
Media & Technology
- Develop printed materials (posters, signage, etc.)
- Maintain online presence (website, Facebook, etc)
- Produce videos on marriage equality and ballot initiative campaign
